Then after the ground battle is won and you're given the option to choose what to do with the system make sure to choose the 3rd (far right) option which will destroy the Ark and allow you to recover it. They are a zealous race of aliens that relies on the Endless technology to survive. Later in the game the Arks get an upgrade where they can't be targeted in space battles (Make sure to upgrade your Arks with this as it's frustrating to lose 1 like I did!) When this happens you need to siege the system with your ships.
(This step isn't needed for the achievement you only need to recover it) Once the Ark is recovered you can then use that to settle on a planet.

There are then 2 ways to get this achievement:Įarly game you can destroy the Ark in a space battle so just rush some military ships and attack the enemy's Ark ship (They will have 1 on each system they've colonised). I'd recommend playing on a smaller map and obviously yourself and the ai both need to be Vodyani. The Vodyani use Ark ships to settle on planets (Which you can move to another system any time you want if you find a system with better resources and the Ark keeps all upgrades!)
